How much rain is too much rain?

I never knew who originally did this song... but it includes one of the most recognizable horn riffs in dance music. Those of you, like me, who didn't recognize the name Enur, will recognize this rendition from Hot Pink Delorean (even with his staple crunch).

Lot49, electro-house label out of London, has a new release out on beatport. Dylan Rhymes' single "Kemptown" which features vocals from Pablo Decoder is out now... and while I can't tell if this is the full length version, its 320 kbs straight from the label. So no bitchen here :-)

Because there haven't been enough remixes of Passion Pit... we'll gladly give you a new remix of Passion Pit. From La Dolce Vita; the Chicago-based crew takes their normally dark-wavish sound down a few pegs for this mix, which I think makes it more appealing to a broader dance audience while not straying too far from what LDV normally does.

Also here are a pair of very bloggable, and very mixable remixes from Hungarian duo, Tits & Clits (i still love that name).

Daft Punk - The Prime Time Of Your Life (Tits & Clits Remix) | 320 kbs

Now for some press from RCRDLBL:

Formally known as VND/LSM, Autoerotique first gained notoriety after having their first remix (a bootleg of Rihanna’s “Umbrella”) included in DIPLO’s mix for tastemaking music website PITCHFORK. Now representing DIM MAK RECORDS, the pair from Toronto have hit it big with remixes for names like FISCHERSPOONER, LAIDBACK LUKE & DIPLO and SHINICHI OSAWA as well as one of the biggest remixes of the year with LYKKE LI’s “Little Bit”.

Their debut single, “Gladiator” has already taken over dancefloors worldwide without even having been released. Now they’re storming the scene with the official release of “Gladiator” along with remixes by STEVE AOKI x DJ AM, BLOGULA, DEPRESSED BUTTONS, AC SLATER, DJ KLEVER, & MILANO.

Hail to the Social

After browsing thru past posts in my blog, I began to notice something... that is I spend a lot of my time posting tracks that I receive from new bands and artists thru my inbox. And believe you me, I'm grateful for that and hope that that provides them positive exposure... but I sometimes feel that I can stray away from why I started this blog in the first place: to spread some of my favorite songs out for the world to hear.

Hell, there are even some tracks that I receive that become some of my all-time favorites. But there's just so much material out there, that you can't possibly limit yourself or your blog to just the inbox. Sometimes you have to go out an post other discoveries, whether they're new or old, and just enjoy the music for what it is.

Which brings me to Hail Social an indie/electronica band from the Philadelphia-- *gasp* --I know, I too thought that type of music was reserved for the Aussies... but HS have done a sturdy job at providing fodder for the likes for remix artists the world over, with stellar results. Here's a bunch that tickle my fancy at least.

When your tracks are already fused with 70's disco and an 80's beat, you're bound to attract the attention of 'future disco' professionals. That's what subgenre specialists Hot Pink Delorean, Designer Drugs, and Anoraak saw and heard in Hail Social, and did superb renditions that keep the spirit of the originals, but giving them that stylized retro makeover.
