Did y'all see Delirious?

Pretty lax weekend if I do say so. I'm cooped up inside my cozy apartment by choice. Partly recuperating from last night, as well as keeping away from the Siberian-esque wind and snow that has fallen on our great city (and watching Eddie Murphy stand-up). At least that gives me some time to make some long overdue posts.

Start with a few tracks from A1 Bassline. The London based bedroom producer has released some of the more consistently solid works over the last year. Some artists use industry slang for their names for kicks and giggles, but A1 means it when he brings the bass. Always love hearing A1-laced tracks on the dancefloor.

Talking industry slang names, Sidechains had a remix contest recently wrapped up via Finger on the Pulse, however unlike other remix contests, our inbox wasn't flooded with too many entries. I'm sure that will change now that the new Sidechains EP has been released.

On a similar note the Moulinex & Xinobi remix contest ended a few weeks ago and Esto! was declared victorious (I love the more melodic bassline).

Drlkt Freddie (DANR Music) is the amalgamation of Van Scott and Jad Cooper from Brooklyn, and have quite the year ahead of them. Official singles and EP's will be dropping soon in the Spring and early Summer. Here's a "twisted, distorted bass and synth stomper".

Going back and revisiting inspirational and iconic tracks is always good as it paints things in a broader picture. What I mean is that it's easy to get lost in the electronic music world with all this new music being thrown about via emails, zshare, blogs, hypem charts and the like. So when you can relate something new with something so genre defining, you can easily see how electronic music as a whole builds such a rabid fan base.
