While most Drum & Bass producers have been consumed by the mighty dubstep juggernaut, DJ Zinc has taken the road less traveled.
House music. Or "Crack House" as Zinc calls it.
"I was with MC Dynamite in Nagoya, the day before we were DJing, and I was saying to him, 'Look, you're gonna have to introduce this house stuff. If you say just house, people will think it's Hed Kandi or something.' We were just sitting in the bar getting drunk and there was a sign on the wall that said 'crack house', and I pointed to it and he was like, 'There you go'. And it kinda works. People have their own preconceptions of what house is and if you give it a name that they don't know then they'll listen."
Zinc took his classic Jump-Up sound, slowed it down and threw in a 4/4 stomping kick drum. The result is groovy, funky house that could have climbed the dance charts in 1991.
Let's hope it climbs some charts in 2010.

This "Crack House" sounds alot like Niche or Speed Garage to me.. Don't get me wrong I'm diggin the tracks but I feel the new name is not necessary
