New Avalanches Album!!

Well... its on the horizon (hopefully). I know, I got just as hard (and probably wet too) when I first read the headlines today. But we still have to keep our fingers crossed, as first reported by NME, the Aussie turntablists' sophomore offering is on its way. As written on their myspace page:

"putting the finishing touches on album 2 !!!!!!!!!"

And exactly how awesome is that? Lots. Lots awesome.

Nah... but seriously, I feel embarassed for having never heard of these guys until Kid Color used a Wham! vs Digitalism mashup on his Carded & DisCarded mixtape. But I've living it up now, as The Avalanches are uber talented, and I've had their album, Since I Left You, on repeat since I got it. 3500 different samples used to make up the album, are you kidding me?

Incredible turntablism is displayed by these guys from Since I Left You and their mash-ups/remixes alike... and the new album (which has been announced for over a year now) is supposed to go above and beyond even that. Well take your time fellas, I feel like I need to have this album which was released back in 2001 on my palette for a bit longer until I can truly appreciate the new stuff.
