Yea, this came out over the summer. I missed it. Because I'm out of touch, dumb, clueless and filled with ineptitude.
Having the self defecating out of the way... onto the album at hand, Born in the Echoes. It's The Chemical Brothers' eigth studio release, and first full release since 2010. If you've been familiar with any of The Chemical Brothers' previous work, then you'll probably know what to expect here. Well polished techno-electronica, plenty of percussive layers, distortion, beeps & bloops.
"Go" has a pretty enticing bassline and vocals, and has already been featured in numerous promo spots for Google, Youtube, video games, and probably every sporting event hype-video in the coming future. That's fine, shit happens. And can somebody tell me if that's Q-Tip on vocals or not? It sounds like him, but I dont see him credited anywhere for it.
My other Chemical Brothers posts has consistently been my most viewed and searched out post on the interwebs (which has since been flagged ohhh so many times for DMCA notices, and no longer has any tracks available to it). People love The Chemical Brothers, for good reason, they've stood that paradoxical test of time. Looking forward to adding this album to my collection.
EDIT:
I guess it was Q-Tip... he's been credited on the album along with St. Vincent, Beck, Cate Le Bon, and Ali Love.
Cool. Cool cool cool.

Chemical Brothers - Another World [vids]
The Chemical Brothers - Another World from ikkunapaikka on Vimeo.
Sorry I've only been posting a lot of videos but I've cancelled our box.net account and hosting music has come to a standstill at the moment until I get our server up and running with our new domain jargon jargon blah blah excuses.
I'll get it fixed soon. But in the meantime, the Chem Bros keep amazing fans like myself with singles and videos alike.

Chemical Brothers + Swoon [roots]
About damn time dont you think? The Chemical Brothers are (finally) releasing their 7th full studio album, Further, on June 14th... and seeing how I wasn't really feeling We Are The Night... this makes over 5 years since I got some new *dust* for my cans.
A quick search on hypem will give you about 12,000 copies of Don Diablo's remix of "Swoon" (which is actually their second single off this album. So rather than repost the same ish as everyone else... I'll be posting a few of my all time favorite Chemical Bros.

So THAT'S What I've Been Missing...
So THAT'S What I've Been Missing...
There's a first time for everything, and I had my virgin Justice cherry popped on Wednesday. I've missed seeing them 3 times by my count, and holy hell what a show. Even though it was just a DJ set, they played plenty of their own tracks on top of other industry favorites (props for gettin' some Chem Bros in there). Here's a few pics I took from the show and a few tracks that have found their way to my inbox. Enjoy bitches!

A couple new things via LA outfit LAZRtag. First are the results of when Vinh and Erik submitted a rework of MJ's "Smooth Criminal" to Buffetlibre's new remix project. And the next being yet another rendition of "Taken Away" by Digitalism. You haven't heard too many of those yet have you? Good.

Pretty pumped that Cold Blank added me to their email list. Another duo from LA dropped this piece of fidgetty goodness, and quite simply it's effin' fire. So there.Cold Blank - Fidgets Live In This Small House | download

Chitown vs Worst Time Zone Ever
The Cubs are tanking, and getting absolutely murdered by the Dodgers. That been putting a lot of stress on not only me, but the whole effin' city. Fans are up in arms, the players failed to show up, the curse might actually excist... I mean total anarchy!!
So what do we do? Go win 2 in LA and then come back to win game 5? It's happened before, but its not likely. I think the best way to resolve this is for everyone to just caaaaaaaaalm down. The city, fans, and media have put waay too much pressure on the Cubs, and it's not gonna work by forcing these last 100 years on the team. Just let it go, embrace the game, and let the chips fall where they may.
So here are a group of tracks from collected Chicago and LA based artists/DJs/producers. If these tracks do nothing more than distract you from the embarassing team that has taken the field the last two nights, then cherish it. Anything is better than the last two ball games.

Mp3: A-Trak - Say Whoa (Big Na$ty Remix) (mp3) [LA based Big Na$ty continues improving on his mastery of house breaks, shells out another legit dancefloor banger, remember he already gave 2Pac some posthumous love]
Alternative content
Mp3: The Chemical Brothers - Believe (Mr Mike Weez FeeFiFoFum Remix) (mp3) [Chicago takes a swing back with Mr Mike Weez and his own dancefloor rendition off The Chemical Bros 2005 wax]
Alternative content
Mp3: Rockland - You Can't Stop Californi-Yee (mp3) [A new bloke fron San Fernando is influenced a bit more by the 90's rave sounds, but still able to spin in heavy contemporary house glitches]
Alternative content
Mp3: JDP - Release (mp3) [if you missed the Starters DJs remix of JDP's "Styrofoam Cups"... then you suck, so here's his newest release (no pun intended). Again, I know dick when it comes to hip hop, but if it sounds good, it sounds good. And this ish sounds good]

Alternative content
Mp3: Stereoheroes - Midnight Sons (feat. Teen Wolf) (mp3) [Vegas based Teen Wolf was kind enough to send his mix of Love Lockdown (which you'll still be able to find on the blogs) but I personally just cannot stand the original, so I politely declined. But I'm more than glad to post a collab he did with Stereoheroes]
Alternative content
Mp3: Matt & Kim - It's A Fact (Mano Remix feat Hollywood Holt) (mp3) [ummm... really dont need to say much about this as it's been out a while. BTW, did anyone see the show on Monday? I missed it and am kinda pissed]
Alternative content
Mp3: NightWaves - Even Money (mp3) [i think this song might've been rejected as the romatic interlude piece in Beverly Hills Cop III. Looking forward to Nightwaves refining their Future Disco sounds into something of the likes of Moulinex and Futurecop!]
Alternative content
Mp3: The Hood Internet - Tambourine Reckoning (mp3) [might as well ensure a victory for Chicago in this little cross-country battle by throwing in mash-up masters STV SLV and ABX from The Hood Internet. With a catalogue of well over 200 mash-ups its hard to pick just one track, so I'll play the lazy card and go with something straight from the player]

Exit Inbox Stage Right
My inbox has been clogged recently with a lot of new ish... and who am I to deny these new artists the chance to be seen and heard? Well technically, I AM that guy, since I run this site... but I appreciate hard work when I see and hear it, and these all have it. So give them a listen and visit their respective spaces for more. Also, if you buy something of theirs, they'll likely be able to make more ace tunes and you'll be able to say "I liked them before they were big" (we all know how we love to be able to say that).

First up is the latest arrival in the ole' gmail account... Housse de Racket, a pair of Paris kids who grew up listening to Daft Punk and Serge Gainsbourg, have finished their first album Forty Love (guessing a tennis reference). It's being released on Kuskus Records on October 13, and here is their first single "Oh Yeah!" as well as a pair of remixes. All three are pretty catchy, but the original reminds me of a happy french mix Arctic Monkeys and Air.
Mp3: Housse de Racket - Oh Yeah!
Mp3: Housse de Racket - Oh Yeah! (Tepr Remix)
Mp3: Housse de Racket - Oh Yeah! (25 Hours a Day Remix)
Also from Kuskus Records, and have been smoldering in my inbox for a good part of the summer, are You! and Vivek Shraya. These crews have been headlining French parties, and I can only imagine what those might entail. I guess you can throw these in the bin labeled electropop or newish happy rave. Not floor bangers, but good in their own right. Here are two tracks from the group they sent over.
Mp3: You! - Ouohoho (Bublebeez Remix)
Mp3: Vivek Shraya - If We're Not Talking
Next up is a local Chitown underground hip hop artist JDP. He recently finished working with a crew you all should know by now, Starters DJ's, on a remix of his lead single "Styrofoam Cups". Let it speak for itself... and listen.

Mp3: JDP - Trip In My Cup (Starters Remix) /bitchen highly recommended
Shinichi Osawa is a name you all should be familiar with, and The Chemical Brothers' "Star Guitar" should already have well over 100x plays on your last.fm account (ok fine, you can combine both the original and Shinichi's cover if you have to). Alavi reroX'd the ish of this. Well... kinda. It just takes a while to get back to the familiar tune we're all familiar with.
Mp3: Shinichi Osawa - Star Guitar (Alavi ReroX)

New release from Venga Digital comes Spangled Ballet. Kinda caught me off guard cos it was the label that sent me the clips (and normally I dont listen to clips), so they sat in the inbox for a few weeks. And now I wish I had the full 320 kbs versions cos these are fidgety housey goodness. Also a Stupid Fresh remix as well. I warned you they're short, so get the full set over at Beatport. Dont be cheap.
Mp3: Spangled Ballet - Destruction Friday (128 kbs clip)
