Is French House making a comeback? I coulda sworn I've heard this song back in 2007 via one of Ed Banger's cookie cutter remix artist/producers like Oizo or Feadz. But relatively unknown Madeon keeps the latest Yelle remix sounding just fresh enough to separate himself from ancient times (relative to blog years).

I'm sure the IFPI would enjoy this little guy... but I've got direct permission from the music manager at Muzikology himself that it's been cleared for promotional uses. Stick that one to the man! Cultural learnings aside, this new track from flying Dutchman Don Diablo can be put on the shelf next to Immuzikation and Buy Now. First rate sampling with a glitched house/electronica beat. Hmmmm... I'm wondering which sample they couldn't clear to make it non-commercial?

Baskerville might just look like another DJ duo in masks... but these dutch producer/remixers take things in more hip-hoppy/funky/rocky/electro-y direction. Expect a debut release in early 2009.

It's fair to say the Yelle remix front has gone stagnant recently. Thankfully George Lenton is on top of things and renewed that ideology today with a new "Je Veux Te Voir" remix.

It's almost Christmas bitches... and that means not only bolstering the economy and eating honey baked ham... but listening to seasonally themed remixes and mashups. LehtMoJoe somehow pulls this one off with 50 Cent and Paul McCartney. This truly is a very Christmas to you listeners out there cos I wouldn't ever post a "In Da Club" track if it weren't the holidays. And as a bonus... something a little more my style.

I'm really digging Van Scott and his collaborations since I first heard his work with fellow DJ's Are Not Rockstars (D.A.N.R. Music) Alexander Technique. Here's a more melodic track with steely cosmic vocals that he did with Jad Cooper (when paired up they go by Drlkt Freddie).

And finally, I introduce to you Under Electric Light, a band from Montreal who I was indroduced to thru soundcloud with a new song and video. They've got a definite downtempo shoegaze feel to them, which is always money in my book. Definitely a good track to end a nice eventing with. For you, a Styrofoam remix and a video of their latest single.

BONUS: I didn't want to sit on this one for too much longer. It's RESET!'s dub version of their track GASA, and the bit reduced break at 1:26 is effin fire.

Yelle + Bearries

Well... not really new, but new to the event wall. If you didn't know yet, Yelle is on her way to Chicago next week. I'm on the fence about this, because while I love her music and music videos... I just cant get myself pumped about this in the same way I would about Justice, MSTRKRFT, Digitalism, or even local favs like Hey Champ, Black Holes, or Kid Color. Meh, it'll probably come down to a shitty work schedule like usual, and I wont even have to worry about committing or not.
And speaking of local acts, I can't fail to mention that Bearries is one of the opening acts for Yelle. I've recieved flak from certain individuals before (my roommate) about how their music isn't dancefloor friendly. Well they (he) was unable to eat his words as he failed to attend the Danger show back last month at Abbey Pub. Bearries made sure the modest crowd was well ready for the heavy and intimidating beats of the flying Frenchman.
They just sent me this track to post, which wraps up just under 2 hours in length (haha jk, its only 9 minutes). Also is another new remix of my most favorite Yelle track, this time spun via Italy house mixers Cool Kids Cant Die (not to be confused with Chitown's own Cool Kids).

New Yelle "Ce Jeu" Video
Celebrity blogger extraordinaire Perez Hilton got the exclusive premiere of Yelle's new video for "Ce Jeu". That track is easliy my favorite [original] track by Yelle (the Tepr remix of ACDG was preety much unstoppable).
I have no code to embed the video, so either go to Perez Hilton's site, or you can hit up Badical Beats (that's where I first read it).

Yelle + La Dolce Vita

Andy and Graham from Chitown based La Dolce Vita released a fresh new remix of Yelle's 'Mon Meilleur Ami'. The track is heavy and glitchy as hell, I felt like Earth's gravity tripled while listening to it. It's a very well produced piece of dance floor bliss that could easily be fit into any DJ mix this summer (heads up hombres!).
Give them some deserved myspace love, see a show and/or buy a few of their tracks [here]. soquitcherbitchen!

I don't usually do this... but I'm kinda bored on a Thursday night after a long ass day at work... that is spontaneous montage of song posting.
All these tracks have enjoyed a great amount of play on my mp3 player over the last several months, and while none are considered 'new' by any means (especially in the fickelitist blogging world), they might be new to you... so here ya go bitches.
Mp3: Daft Punk - Voyager (Revolte Remix) [possibly my favorite Daft Punk remix and btw, my first Daft Punk song posted IIRC]
Mp3: Villains - Thrilla [absolute amazing efkin song]
Mp3: Tepr - Minuit Jacuzzi (DatA Remix) [first time you hear this song you know its bangin]
Mp3: Yelle - Ce Jeu (Neon Coyote's Destroyed Remix) [first 4 minutes are bliss, as in mix-worthy]
Mp3: Mylo - Emotion 98.6 [a lot more chill and mellow than what y'all are used to, but equally awesome, i'd like to bump this to about 125 bpm and roll widdit]
Mp3: Mylo - Guilty of Love [another kick ace mylo track with 2 personalities]
Mp3: Röyksopp - Eple [their most popular single was one of my first posts, enjoy another chill out classic]
Mp3: Daft Punk - Aerodynamic (Daft Punk Remix) [think "One More Time" vs "Aerodynamic"]
Mp3: Usher - Love in this Club (MSTRKRFT Remix) [more proof that mstrkrft can make any song good]

Yellespotting...
A friend of mine posted this on Facebook today, and when I saw it it did nothing but brighten my day. Lets be honest, we all love seeing kids like that at the clubs. They do nothing but love dance. Hope it brightens yours! soquitcherbitchen.
