That's right mutha flippas... we got a big storm coming thru this halloween weekend in the second city. Those of us Chicagoians (ages 17 and up) will be able to check out not 1 headliner (Chromeo), not 2 headliners (Crystal Castles), but 3 effin' ace acts (Boys Noize) on the stage in one night.
I've seen Boys Noize before and he alone is worth the stage time and ticket price as he's the BEST DJ I'VE EVER SEEN. What he does with a pair of pioneer CDJ's is like watching MacGyver diffuse a nuclear warhead with a piece of string a last sunday's USA Today. Precision, execution, and the ability to reel in a crowd with unique tracks even for the most electro-schooled of us.

One of the most visually stimulating and entertaining live acts around, Simian Mobile Disco will be gracing the Second City at the Metro this Friday in continuing their NA tour. The duo out of London has a couple new tracks and videos out that have stormed the blogs the last few months. Not for lack of reason though, as this crew consistently has the tightest and most interesting electronica in the industry.
We at soquitcherbitchen are priveledged to be able to hand out two pairs of tickets for Friday night's festivus. Yelle + Bearries
Well... not really new, but new to the event wall. If you didn't know yet, Yelle is on her way to Chicago next week. I'm on the fence about this, because while I love her music and music videos... I just cant get myself pumped about this in the same way I would about Justice, MSTRKRFT, Digitalism, or even local favs like Hey Champ, Black Holes, or Kid Color. Meh, it'll probably come down to a shitty work schedule like usual, and I wont even have to worry about committing or not.
And speaking of local acts, I can't fail to mention that Bearries is one of the opening acts for Yelle. I've recieved flak from certain individuals before (my roommate) about how their music isn't dancefloor friendly. Well they (he) was unable to eat his words as he failed to attend the Danger show back last month at Abbey Pub. Bearries made sure the modest crowd was well ready for the heavy and intimidating beats of the flying Frenchman.
They just sent me this track to post, which wraps up just under 2 hours in length (haha jk, its only 9 minutes). Also is another new remix of my most favorite Yelle track, this time spun via Italy house mixers Cool Kids Cant Die (not to be confused with Chitown's own Cool Kids).

Fists of MSTRKRFT
Unless you've been hiding under a rock the last few weeks (and who'd blame you after that abysmal performance by the Cubs this postseason)... then you probably already heard about the MSTRKRFT North American tour that's taking place. The show was originally planned to be at the Metro this coming Tuesday 10/07, but due to the Cubs tentative playoff schedule, it has since been moved to the Double Door that same night (btw, I blame this kind of jinx in scheduling as part of the Cubs' demise).
Opening for MSTRKRFT will be Felix Cartal, Congorock, and Chitown's own Black Holes. If this show is even half as good as the last time they came to town last March, then this will mosdef be the show-of-the-fall.

Danger + DiscoSteed
In case you didn't know this yet, DiscoSteed is the dude with the video camera that you might see lurking at many of the bitchenest bangin' events that pass thru the city. He's a videographer, and has shot the likes of MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots, A-Trak, Danger, and now Culture Prophet... all within the last 6 months. If you were at any of those shows, you probably saw him filming (if not for the 10,000W spot light bulb on his camera... haha).
I knew he was at the Danger show (for said reason), but DIDN'T know that he signed on to begin writing for Aussie promoters Trashbags Kids. Here is a video he posted on their blog featuring a video re-edit of "Into the Galaxy" by the Midnight Juggernauts, remixed by Danger. I was holding off on posting this until I got a flyer for this absolutely sure-to-rock-your-socks-off-event. And now that it's arrived, I can assist in announcing that Danger is coming! Danger... is coming to Chicago! WTF? I know.. it blew my mind as well.
A few recent Danger tracks should help you get in the mood. Firstly something new in his 'time of day' series. Then a remix he did for SymbolOne's Love Juice. That track has seen some heavy traffic being remixed already by the likes of Moulinex and Loose Shus, Passions and now Danger.
