New mini-mix from the mystery men themselves, Chewy Chocolate Cookies. This is like a frantic heart attack into the future. 14 tracks (including 6 yet to be released CCC remixes and originals), stuffed like sardines into 9min and 54sec of two handed thunderdunk.

Few other remixers had such a lack of an image to uphold throughout the year than Chewy Chocolate Cookies. You wont find their picture on myspace, google images gives you album covers, and flickr makes me hungry. I still have no idea who these persons are in real life... and have yet to see an actual photo of any of them playing live or anything. Hell, just something that proves that they aren't truly a bunch of cookies warmed by the heat of nuclear radiation that in turn mutated themselves into remixing masters. Hey, it could be true.
CCC had a HUGE collection of releases this year, but my favorite was actually off one of the biggest releases of last year. "Idealistic" as an original production has grown to legendary proportions that outside a few remixers like A-Trak, has stood prominantly untouched and for good reason... it's that good. Well the remix the Cookies threw at us doesn't sound like something old and familiar off of an almost two year old single. CCC is known for frantic and heavy original remixes, they dont fit the mold of a certain niche genre like Danger or Moulinex, and dont have that distinct geographical sound like a Justice. Their neutral sound coming out of London has created a worldwide following and massive amount of sex appeal in the blogosphere (not bad for a group with no face).
How will 2009 stack up for CCC? Will we ever meet the real people behind the tray? Who knows... I'm enjoying the music.
Its turkey week y'alls. What that means besides a tryptophan trip (which I recently found out is bogus) is Black Wednesday, Turkey Bowl Thursday, and an extended holiday weekend. Ahh that last one would only pertain to those with normal jobs. While I'll be working thru the holiday, I hope you all have a sweet ass time with your family and loved ones this holiday... travel safe... and listen to some sweet ass tunes during it all.
Get things started off the right way with some German electronica. Saint Pauli just sent me this today and if you look past the creepy Rammsteinian vocals, you find the familiar stadium hall epicness that is standard from Saint Pauli tracks. Also my new favorite FutureFlashs remix, this time of a Swedish act Stay Ali. The song's instrumental buildup is uber pleasant... sounding like a future disco'd-up Breakbot. But again with the awkward vocals... maybe he'll do a dub mix as well.
Gejius is a Portland, OR producer that thought it'd be a good idea to test his skills on the same Mariah Carey track that I posted of DD in last week's post. The nerve of that guy amiright? To send a legitimately excellent remix and thinking that I'd want to listen to it and maybe post it for others. Garbage thinking I tell you.

It's not every day when you get the original artist/producer of a song plugging someone else's remix. Can you really blame Alexander Technique & Van Scott in the case when it was Chewy Chocolate Cookies that did the remix? In the underground international house world, Alexander Technique probably doesn't need much intro, but in the electro blog-house community, he might. So smart move by featured artist Van Scott to get this track out and about for the world to see (and hear).
Do you like the artwork on this post? I love the amalgam of old school 8bit characters blended in contemporary settings (likewise with 8bit sounds in music). Segway to Mr Vega, of whom I've posted a few times before... but now he's self releasing his first EP. You can get it free from his myspace, but here's my favorite selection on top of another bonus remix he did for Passion Pit.
Finally, I wanted to give you a sneak into my next post which will feature a slew of Binary artists. Binary of course being the core of talent in the greater LA-land area. They're testing the old gold coast Aussie theorem, being a cannibalistic nature of everyone remixing each other. And the results are what you'd expect. Fire. Here's a more chill remix of a personal favorite from Keenhouse.
Sorry for the exuberant lack of posts this month. Between the election, a sorely needed vacation, car trouble and our building's internet and satellite being in the middle of an overhaul... blogging has been left on the back burner. But hopefully this will continue a solid streak of good tunes and event info (started with my last post about Calamity Jane's Black and Pink Ball).
It was a looong time ago when this landed in the inbox, and Chewy Chocolate Cookies caught me at the completely wrong time. While this isn't my favorite remix from CCC, I'm just gitty that they actually included me in their list.

TANZ/TANZ is the first Swedish electronic duo that I've come across who stealth away from the iconic Swedtastic Indie-pop-mnml sound and into something much more fidget house (me likey) ARE FROM EFFIN SWITZERLAND! And I cant wait to hear more from these guys.

So MGMT's "Electric Feel" is close to my favorite track released this year... and when combined with one of my favorite remixers, Dskotek, who's style of up tempo electro house makes this easily the best thing to romp with on the hardwood. .

Mr Mike Weez from Chicago comes back with a more than legit old school remix from Outkast's "B.O.B.". He still has no myspace, but if you knock on his door long enough, maybe he'll wake up and at least get a Virb account.

Thrills has been up on my short list for remixers to watch out for. His catalogue is ginormous as it stands, and this new Claire Hux remix makes the agnostic in all of us start second guess the power of an Halleileuja. [note: head over to beatport to check his new remix of Alex Zelenka's "Bide to Abide"] XD

Got this track last week from OK City duo Trash Yourself. If you like dirty electrotrash sounds, then give this a listen. Especially if you're in the LA area this Thursday 11/20... you'll be able to see Trash Yourself along side /bitchen favorites Dskotek, Teen Wolf, and Big Nasty at The House Lounge.
Welp, I'm a bit late for my mid-monthly collection of ace tracks that I've found across the blogosphere or thru my library. Remember as always these aren't necessarily new to everyone, but all good and need to be exposed for all to see (plus, I get major site hits when posting some of these most recently SAFE!!!)
Mp3:Booka Shade - Charlotte [mp3][saw these guys for the first time at Lolla and were outperforming MGMT for the entire hour]
Mp3:Cryptonites - Can't Give You Up (Kill the Noise Remix) [mp3][i posted Fantastadon's remix a few weeks ago, but this takes it in another direction, equally on fire]
Mp3: DVAS - Ambient Room (SymbolOne Remix) [mp3] [SymbolOne does another 80's retrofit discotheque killer, this time of a track by DVAS, of whom you should expect much more from in future soquitcherbitchen posts]
Mp3:Ladytron - Ghosts (Toxic Avenger Remix) [mp3][Ghosts was always a fitting title for this track, and Toxic Avenger makes it scary as hell]
Mp3:PNAU - Embrace ft. Ladyhawke (Fred Falke and Miami Horror Remix) [mp3][more Aussie on Aussie dancefloor fodder... dont we all love it when they play nice together?]
Mp3:The Presets - Yippiyo-ay [mp3][not everything has to be remixed... i prefer not to ever hear this track and its witty lyrics changed, ever]
Mp3:Young MC - Bust A Move (Don Rimini Ravekid Remix) [mp3][ummm... kinda thru this in the mix at the last second cos DJ Bald Eagle used it in his set at Lolla, which btw was one of the highlights of the day... BAH CAW!!!!]
I have no idea where I got this, or how old it is, or what it's entirely made up of. But this mini-mix from the ungodly dancefloor killers, Chewy Chocolate Cookies, will likely be the resolute of several broken bones and bruises, not out of rage, but out of dancefloor bliss.
When you have one of the best electronic albums of 2007, you are undoubtedly going to have a fair share of remixes. With singles like D.A.N.C.E, DVNO, and Waters of Nazareth, Justice provided easy fodder for remixers across the globe for some bangin' tracks.
I'll save you some hunting, and provide some of my favorites that I've been playing on repeat for months now. Remember to check out any of these artists at your local venues if you get the chance. I'll attest to LA Riots myself.
